Mine and my daughter's last concert of the year.  We had a blast watching these guys perform.  I've uploaded a couple of videos to my Youtube channel if you want to check it out.

We've been fortunate in that we got to see so many different kpop groups perform in Atlanta this year:  24K, UP10TION, B.A.P, Day 6,  MonstaX and now A.C.E..  We also got to see Black Violin, which was totally awesome too.  Not sure what we'll get to see next year.  She enters college next fall which will challenge us to get her to concerts.

My daughter had control of the camera for most of the night.  These are some of the pictures she took.  I watermarked them with her name so that she would receive credit for them. No, we were not up front.  We happen to have a good point & shoot camera to play with.   It also helps that she's been taking photography and hopes to minor in it when she gets to college.

My daughter and I attended the concert last night at the Center Stage Theater.  I'd never been to that venue before and was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't necessarily a bad seat in the house.  The boys did an awesome job with the show and we had a wonderful time.  We did video a couple of the songs they performed.  Those are available on my YouTube channel.  We took 100+ photos and are still sorting through those.  Next concert: Monsta X in late July.

This is my buyer beware story concerning Studio PAV.  April of last year, I purchased tickets to the KPOP group M.FECT.  Due to a promoter not promoting the show, the show was cancelled and I was due a refund.  In June, I was contacted  by Studio PAV with an alternative offer.  They'd give me my refund plus 20% off if I purchased tickets to the KPOP group 24K.  I like 24K,so I went for the deal.  The concert had to be rescheduled because Studio PAV didn't put in for the boys' visas in time to get here.  I tried multiple times after the reschedule was announced (and failed) to get my refund.  They had disappeared and refused to respond to any emails.  Eventually I filed a BBB report to try to get my money back from the original concert.  The BBB then tried contacting Studio PAV.  Studio PAV failed to respond to them.  I had to consider my money gone unless I wanted to go to small claims court in NY.  (I'm not the only person this happened to, you can check the BBB site in NY for confirmation.  I've also kept all mail/records regarding this issue.)

Fast forward to earlier this month they "came back" to announce they were promoting the KPOP group UP10TION.  March 24th they sent out an email stating that they were waiting for the promoter from M.FECT to give them money in order to refund the previous concert (a year later).  They stated that you could instead use the credit to purchase UP10TION tickets.  (sound familiar?)  I contacted them asking about my refund plus 20% from 24K and was informed that that offer had to be redeemed prior to today.  Umm... really?

So, the moral of this story is, don't buy anything directly from Studio PAV.  If you want to attend one of their concerts, make sure you buy your ticket from Ticketmaster.  That way at least if something happens to the show and it is cancelled or rescheduled, you have a way to recover your money.

I wasn't able to use my little point and shoot camera for the concert, so this is all phone quality. This was the first time I've ever done high touch/group photo.  They're just as squishy up close as they are on the screen.

I did get a couple videos of some of the songs.  Kisu wanted us to enjoy the last portion of the show without video/camera, but I couldn't resist getting them doing Superfly.  Here's the link to my playlist.

The boys did an awesome job and I do hope they're able to do another tour in the future.    If they do, hopefully they'll have time in between travel/shows to be able to tour.  I know  Hongseob would love the World of Coca-Cola.  We could send Jinhong to one of the bigger malls for the Apple store.  Cory/Jeonguk might enjoy visiting one of the local rap/hip-hop recording studios (and artists).  I'm sure with more thought I'd come up with something for Kisu & Chanagsun, but my brain has stopped functioning for now. 

Anyway, my girls and I had a blast at the concert.  I'm glad the boys got the chance to tour the US.  I wish all the best for them in the future and look forward to seeing what they come up with.

If you've read different posts on my blog, you'll know that my daughter got me into KPop several years ago.  Since then, I've found many groups that I really enjoy supporting.  24K is one of those groups.  They've changed members over the years as some have left and others have joined.  The group itself is about 6 years old.  They all recently participated in an idol reboot show in Korea.  It was meant to help them promote their group as well as to show what they can do.  One of the members (Soo) has even debuted as a solo artist recently.

I'd really love to see them get support for their tour here in the US.  They're well received in Germany and other countries.  In my opinion, there's no reason they can't be supported here.  I'm primarily shooting for here in Atlanta, but there's more than just Atlanta on their tour.  I'm not impressed by their promotions company, but you can find more information about their tour here.  Tickets are actually being sold by Live Nation.

So, I decided I wanted to see what I could do to help some of those KPop groups I support get 1 million views on their music videos.  In Korea, they're partially ranked on how many views they get.  Other factors are streaming, voting, etc.  Admittedly, MV streaming on YouTube is a very small piece of the puzzle.  However, it's one I might be able to affect.  If nothing else, maybe I'll increase their fan base.

 In order to help them out, I'm going to hold a drawing.  Initially, I'm going to focus on just one group.  The SNUPER videos for Platonic Love and their newest song The Star of Stars (유성) have to reach 1M first.   Prize for the SNUPER videos reaching 1M will be a 3-month subscription to Korea Box's KPop Box.  You can select what groups you like when you get the subscription. 

If my entire play list reaches 1M views for each video, then I'll hold a second drawing (most are already half-way there).   Prize for the entire list will be a signed CD from one of the groups on the playlist (TBD).

Drawings won't be held until the videos reach 1M, so you'll have to watch for that to happen.  I'll have to put a time limit on it as well.  I'll give it until mid-August.  They will, though, be open to international fans.

Please note I'm not affiliated with any of the groups or Korea Box.  I'm just a fan doing what I can to help some of my favorites out.
