I know I've shared my tastes in music again, but I thought I'd share again.  My tastes are very eclectic and range from bagpipes to hard rock.  Instead of listing the individual songs, though, I decided to share what I've got on repeat right now.

For those that actually follow me, I apologize for the hiatus.  It started around the time my sister passed away.  I just felt that I couldn't share that and everything else seemed trivial.  Too trivial to talk about.  So now, I'll work on coming back and hopefully improving my content.   I have been active on my instagram account, so I didn't totally disappear off of social media.

This fall my daughter enters college, putting me into semi-empty nester mode.  My son still lives at home while attending college, so while more often than not he's on campus, he is still at home.  It'll be interesting to see what I get into.

This week my daughter graduates high school and Momocon begins.  She and I have a busy week as a result.  This summer we'll take a trip, go to orientation, move stuff around in storage and from my parent's home, and get everything together for her move to the dorm.  So, hopefully if nothing else, I'll share photos of everything that we get into.  I may keep number of posts to one or two a week until things are fully going, but we'll have to see.

In the meantime, congrats to all the graduates!  We're all starting a new adventure.

Checking in..

I haven't been posting much lately, so I thought I would check in with what's going on.  Really?  Not much.  Effectively, I've been working full time as a substitute teacher.  By the time I get home, I usually crash for a while until time to make dinner.  I haven't crafted any props for my daughter.  I haven't been out to do very much either.  Once the weather settles down, I'll get outside and work some in my garden, but I haven't done that yet either.  So I guess no news is a good thing, but it doesn't make for a productive blog.

My daughter has been asking for at least a year to get her upper ear pierced. For her 16th birthday, I took her to get it done. She's quite pleased with the result.  We did have to go to a shop that was willing to do underage piercings.  (Your local mall Claire's won't do upper ears.)  I had to provide birth certificate and ID to give her the chance to get it done.

While we were there, I got mine done as well, though not the same style. It's only one side right now, I may go back and get the other side done to match.

Friday Finale #Getbackontrack

I tried to resolve myself this week to doing more for me. Unfortunately, I managed to halt it without trying.  From sore muscles so that I couldn't move to a headache that wouldn't go away (and required caffeine to help eliminate), the week just didn't go well.  So, I'll start again next week.  I have a new fitbit (alta this time, so hopefully I won't lose it).  I have my resolution, which hopefully I won't break either.  It's been hard for me to stay on track lately, but I'll eventually get it worked out.

I thought I'd share one of my Spotify playlists for today.  Yes, it's that again.  Husband doesn't get it, but that's ok.  I'm using my enjoyment of it to get me to do something new.. learn Korean.  I'll at least be able to read/write. :)  Eventually, I'd like to take a real class, for now I'll make do with the Korean language books I bought.  Husband said it sounds like music from the 80's.. maybe that's why I like it.. after all I was a teen in the '80s.. ugh. I'm old.

I heard about this online and decided to check it out.  My daughter and I stood in line for 2 hours and came home with some really good sweets.  Macarons, Petit 4's, cookies and a t-shirt.  The staff at the truck had the line as optimized as it could be, there were just that many folks wanting to be there.

Adventures in my life #ouch #gome

I came home from school last Thursday and my foot started to hurt.  Fortunately, I'd already scheduled myself off on Friday, so I started RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation).  Saturday night, after going to the BBQ festival, it was throbbing.  I already had a physical scheduled for Tuesday, so I continued RICE until I saw the doctor.  Her recommendation?  RICE and a stronger pain med.  Yay.

Official diagnosis was strained tendon/muscle.  Cause: unknown (I'm just talented)
