I have yet to figure out the why of it, but he loves warm mugs. He could care less about the actual contents.

Friday Fitness (and funny)
I've been letting Jillian Michael's kick my butt this week doing her Yoga Inferno dvd. I figured I owed it to myself after taking time off last week. I also did an hour of Rodney Yee's intermediate yoga Wednesday just to mix it up. After that, I feel like T-Rex below.

Friday funny
My daughter and I saw this sign in downtown Suwanee last week. I had to look twice at it before it registered.

Sunday Football Watching
I gave her a bath, so she felt the need to cuddle with daddy.
Apparently the game was just too good.

My sanity stash
With the way my life has been going lately, I thought I'd share what's in/on my desk to help my sanity. There's usually a drink of some sort (hot tea, soda, water) somewhere nearby too, but this is my sanity saver.

Wordless Wednesday - Yellowstone Photo bomb #WW
As I was taking a picture of the vent in the pull-off parking lot, my daughter jumped in front of the camera.

Wordless Wednesday #WW Proof positive
My daughter wanted short ribs for her birthday dinner. So my husband cooked them on the grill. While we were eating, my macaw decided he needed one too. Which he proceeded to pick at for the next 30 minutes before tossing it to the dogs. Proof positive he's a carnivorous bird.

Monday Funny - My daughter's shoes
When we went to pick up our race packets for the Color Run last week, my daughter asked me for her own pair of Vibrams. She's been stealing mine on occasion, so I let her look. Once I figured out that she really IS the same size I am in Vibrams, I let her get them. Why? Because when she out grows them, they'll become mine. Those are my feet in "her" Vibrams.

Teen brains
I've been musing about what happened to my son's brain this past semester. I came across an interesting theory based on what I know of other teens I've met.
1- The hormones kick in.
2- Depending on how hard, the brain is dissolved into mush
3- The brains leak out of the head
Now, depending on the teen, the second part can be more interesting. So far my son doesn't fit the theory, but I'm working on that. Either the teen recaptures his brains and uses a spiky hair gel which forces hair over the ears and retains the now liquified brains in the head, or they capture SOME of the brains and use it AS the gel that they spike their hair with. Depending on which approach they take, they may retain some semblance of sanity.
This explains my son's problem. He didn't recapture any of the liquified brains that I can tell. Thus, he has taken an almost complete leave of his senses. Hopefully we'll be able to find the puddle (likely under his bed) at some point in the near future and try out the spiky hair theory.

Tattling

I generally don't like tattling, especially from my kids. I make them work out their issues. In this case, though, I find it too funny not to share.. especially since I'm tattling on my husband. He recently lost his little security card for work somewhere here at home. I've been trying to help him find it by making sure stuff gets cleaned up. He came home the other day and said he thought it was in the trunk of his car, he just hadn't taken the time to look. So I decide to be my helpful self and went out looking for it. I started by pulling all the big stuff out (golf clubs and such) first. It's while I'm cleaning that I realize just what sort of stuff has been lingering in my hubby's trunk. I found..
--a baby hat from my daughter (I know it's hers since it's pink)
--clips to tie together two umbrella strollers (from when my kids were both in strollers)
and miscellaneous other things which I either removed to the trash or put back. Note, I didn't find his security card, but maybe he'll clean out his car trunk more often.
