Oh Christmas Tree..

I have 6 trees set up in my house, though I only have pictures of 3. I had a hard time getting these to come out. My kids have their own small trees in their bedrooms. My daughter's is pink with princesses on it. My son's is red with pokeballs. I have a small one in the sun room with a lit star on time and the only ornaments are bows. The others are these...

This one is our 'big' one that the kids decorate. It has both of my son's train sets going around it and lives in our den.

This is a small silver one in the down stairs bathroom.. no decorations, just a tree skirt.

This one is my angel tree. It has my fragile angel ornaments on it and lives in our dining room. I have one of my villages at the base.

Next year I think I'll add two to the front porch, the urn type trees with plain white lights. I like having a garland on the front porch with white lights and I think they'd go well together. This year, I apparently forgot my garland in storage, so I just put up colored LED light strands outside.

What we did Christmas Eve

My family is not "normal". If anyone asks "so what'd you do Christmas Eve?", we'd have to answer "We went to Old Town." For those of you that have been to Kissimee or have been to Celebration, Old Town is an old carnival/fair that is permanently placed on 192. We got there early, bought wrist bands for the kids and stayed until 9pm. When they went back to the condo, they crashed. It made for an "easy" Christmas Eve that the kids loved. I picked these pictures out of hubby's stash.

My son and my oldest nephew on the swinging boat.

My niece loves penguins, so she decided she needed to win the Pokemon equivalent.

My son and my oldest nephew, dropping rapidly.

They all had to play Laser Tag.

My oldest nephew decided to be a goof and ride the carousel.

The rest of us waiting while the boys rode the roller coaster 6 times and my daughter rode the tilt-a-wheel.

Lake Lanier Nights of Lights

We went Saturday evening with another family. We squished 8 of us into a 7 person van. It's a good thing we did, it was $40 to get in. We had a $5 off coupon from Publix, so we paid $35. Still a lot of money. We got there around 6:30 to tour the lights, which is a good thing. We finished our visit around 9p and the line to get IN to the park was almost to 985. Since it closes at about 11p, most of those folk wouldn't make it in. On our way out, we stopped at Wendy's to get a late dinner. We were definitely not the first group to get that idea. The Nights of Lights are apparently good for the restaurants on that road as well.

There was a live Nativity scene, though we didn't stop. It was cold, we had 5 kids to keep rounded up and there was an over large crowd. So we decided to pass and continue on the lights path. We did stop at the Christmas village/fair. The kids enjoyed toasted marshmallows ($2 for a stick of 5 marshmallows).

There are carnival rides, it's $16 for 20 tickets. We didn't do any of those. They also have a short performance called "A Christmas Tale" that shows regularly as well.

I tried my hand at taking pictures with my little camera, here's some of what I managed to capture.

Woo Hoo! Christmas Shopping

My Christmas shopping for my kids is done. That just leaves the rest of the family. Now, I'm sure I'll see lots of other really cool or cute things for my kids, but I'll just have to resist for the sake of my credit card. I really don't need a meltdown before the end of the year. What with trying to fix up the house to prepare it to sell, fixing problems WITH the house so that I don't have water dripping, etc etc, I really don't need more financial investments.

If I see any real cool deals, though, I'll pass them along so that maybe the rest of you can finish your shopping too.

We're off..

We're off to visit my parents at their new condo for Christmas. We hope you have a happy holiday. As a Christmas gift, here's a sneak peek at what'll go on sale with Discovery Toys on January 1st. We'll be back sometime around the 27th, see you then!
