#Flawless12 Write a Bio

I was born in SC although I lived in the Village of Stone Mountain for the majority of my life. I consider myself a small town girl that didn't travel far. From Stone Mountain I went to Georgia Tech. I'm still in the Atlanta area. My kids and I are students of Choi Kwang Do, I recently started back (last week, actually). I’ve done the Disney ½ marathon 5 times now (this past January being my 5th). I took my kids along with me this year and we did the Family 5K together, which was a blast. I'm not very good at staying still or being inactive for long stretches of time. Kinda funny since I'm overweight and out of shape. I'm working on that, though. My daughter and I will do the Color Run at Piedmont Park in March, so that's my current goal.

I love to read, listen to music, hang out on facebook and blogging. I’ve been writing a blog now for the past 5 years. Mostly it's to keep in touch with family, but I've taken to expanding my horizons to see what else I can do with it.

I have been volunteering at the Georgia Aquarium since just before it opened. I volunteered as a Cub Scout leader for 4 years, now I'm a leader for my daughter as an American Heritage Girl. My daughter and I volunteer out at FurKids (an animal shelter) when we have the time. I sponsor soldiers through the Adopt-a-US-Soldier program, sending packages and letters as I can. I highly believe in giving back to the community whenever possible.

I’m a big Disney fan, to the point of calling my minivan a Minnie van. This thanks to all the Minnie Mouse decorations I have in it (my husband won’t let me have a Minnie painted on it). My desktop computer is called Goofy, my printer is Donald and my laptop is called Minnie. I gave my kids a netbook that we call Squirt. The turtles are Jasmine & Belle, my daughter's cat is Jack Sparrow. There's only a little bit of Disney in the house.

I also love animals. We have a small zoo in the house, with 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 lizards, 2 turtles, 1 macaw and various fish. I have always had animals in the house and will always have animals in the house. The variety, though, is all that's likely to change.

So, I didn't follow the prompts exactly in writing my bio, but all of this is who I am. This doesn't even dip into the education side of things, but that would turn a short bio into a life history. Not something I want to put together at this point in time.
