Brownie Worm Farms

At Fernbank on Saturday, one of the activities the girls did was to start a 'worm farm' with red wigglers. They learned how to differentiate an earth worm from other worms, that earth worms do indeed have mouths (and therefore eat) and that their poo is fertilizer. Each girl had a plastic tub to put damp newspaper strips in and was given 2 worms to start their 'farm' with. The girls weren't sure whether to be excited or not by the concept.

My daughter initially named her worms Nikki and Madison after two other scouts that were there. She eventually changed her mind and named them Trixie and Taroko after two of the whale sharks at the Aquarium
