Fitness Friday #fitfluential #rundisney

So, technically it's fitness friday. I can honestly say that other than the Disney 1/2 marathon this past weekend, I haven't done much.  My knee and my back haven't been thrilled with me since we finished.  My back has hurt more than my knee the past few days.  W-Fri I did my yoga flexibility work out.  I figured stretching will help, but I'm starting to think it's got another cause than just the run.  So, I'll try other solutions and see what happens. 

In the meantime, I'm working on a comparison.  I took both my Fitbit ultra and my Jawbone UP down to Disney and wore them while I was there.  I'll let you know what came of that next week.  Next weekend is the Hot Chocolate 5K, who's joining me and my family?

The last time I did the Disney 1/2 was 2012. It was two years ago today. As I prepare to do it again, I'm sharing some of my memories from that day.

For the Lego lovers..

Our last day at Disney, we went to Downtown Disney to do some shopping. We were caught off guard as it was the Festival of the Masters. So the crowds were huge and moving was difficult. We did get to tour the Lego side of things, though.

This one needs some explaining.. it was a mish mosh of "bad 80's movies/shows". See what (if any) you can identify.

Fun Friday (5K recap)

I walked/ran the Jingle Jungle 5K at Disney last weekend with my family and my dad. I enjoyed it (even if I was tired by end of day). These are the "highlights" of the race..

My family wouldn't get in line with me for photos, so it's just me.

Figure we were toward the back at the start, so subtract 5 minutes.

When you stop for photos, you slow down considerably. The boys didn't stop (and I took more than photos this) so they were ahead for a while.

I couldn't get the clock since folks were taking photos in front of it.

At the end of it, my daughter and I caught up to the boys at the finish line. We all got our medals within seconds of each other, though we didn't see each other until we were past the medal stand. Not too shabby, actually, around a 15 minute mile for us with no training.
