So, with the holiday happening next week, I'll be taking a break from posting.  Instead, I'll leave you with some pre-written posts sharing music of the holidays.  After seeing her in concert last month, I thought this one was a great one to start with.

The Yule Forest and Pumpkin Patch is located on Hwy 155 in Stockbridge.  They have an awesome selection of educational programs for the general public to view, as well as school groups.  From their honey house where you can learn about bees to a small building with science in mind.  They even have dinosaurs on the move.

When they open to the public, you can enjoy their haunted trail, hay maze and pumpkin patch.  A kids play area with inflatables and jumping pad for bouncing.  They also have their Pandemic where you get the opportunity to "shoot" (laser tag) live zombies while on the move.  Their grand opening is September 30th.  Once Halloween is over, though, be sure to come back and visit again to get your Christmas tree.

Located in Covington, GA Berry's Christmas Tree Farm has a wonderful selection of u-cut trees for your holiday decoration.  They will be open to the public on November 17th.  When we visited, we were given a tour of the trees, a ride on their little diesel train, and a chance to watch a tree trimmer at work (your tree has to have its' shape maintained).

Once they open, they will have plenty of opportunities to visit with Santa, check out Santa's workshop and a petting zoo.

So, unlike the other week when I just wasn't on my game, I wanted to let you know that I'm spending time with family. As a result, I'll be sharing music videos and other stuff that I enjoy. I'll catch up on anything important or interesting after that. In that spirit, I'll show my age by starting with this one.

Review: Atlanta Botanical Gardens @AtlBotanical #gardenlights

I was given the opportunity to take my family to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens' Garden Lights, Holiday Nights. The gardens were lit up by areas with different themes. Fortunately for us, the weather was cool but not cold.  For those who aren't familiar, this is a walk-through display.  Be prepared to brave the weather and enjoy a show.

This is actually a reflection. The tree was made of lights sitting on top of a small pond. It made for a wonderful wishing pool.

This one is just past the big poinsettia tree. My shots of that, for whatever reason, were rather blurred. The teddy bears, though, are too cute.

For those with train lovers, or just model train lovers, there was a pair of displays of trains. Multiple trains on each, all different. I definitely enjoyed this one.

All told, a very nice evening out.  My kids enjoyed making s'mores, or at least playing with the fire (be prepared, s'more kits are about $6.25 per pack which includes the stick).  There were beverages at a couple of different locations as well, both alcoholic and non.  Parking was $5, but it was a non-prime time.  Check ahead on their web site for prices for prime time parking and tickets.

Christmas with Sister's Family

We spent Christmas Day with my sister and her family. It's always fun to head to her house and see what's new.

Shepherd (Dane/Shepherd mix) is a wiggle waiting to happen. Sweet boy.

The teens were in their "cave" most of the time.

My daughter retreated after a while to work with her new anime art set.

The weather was frightful (they're in Alabama and we had a major storm go through), so we didn't get to do as much as we'd like. However, there's nothing like family at the Holidays.
