dd's DISCOUNTS comes to Decatur! Grand Opening Saturday!

 
I was given the opportunity* to attend a preview of a new discount store located in the Decatur, GA area.  dd's DISCOUNTS is a subdivision of the same chain that has Ross.  dd's, though, has quality items (not necessarily name brand) for less.  dd's is a nationwide chain with 6 stores in the metro Atlanta area.


The new store is relatively easy to find. It's on Candler Rd, in Decatur.  I took 285W to Memorial Drive and turned right.  Then left on to Candler Rd.  Approximately a mile down the road on the left is dd's.

We were treated to a fashion show given by some of the kids from the local Boys & Girls Club.  Something dd's supports in the community, which is awesome to see.

 The kids modeled clothes from the store and were outfitted head to toe for $30 or less.  Which given that some had backpacks too, was good to know.  With back to school coming soon, it'll be a great place to go to make sure they're ready.  For those who have schools that require uniforms, dd's did have the pieces for that as well.




For my part, once we were done, I went shopping.  I had to see what sort of deals I could find in the store.  I think I did pretty well.  For $80, I managed to get 2 pairs of jeans for my son, 2 tops for my daughter,
a skirt and pair of sandals for myself.

Non-clothing wise, I picked up a 3 piece splatter screen set for the kitchen and a bamboo rolling pin, a window shade for my car and a "punching bag" for my kids. They had a great selection of items all around the store. I was happy to find my son's sizes in the mens department. Lots of selection in juniors for my daughter. I didn't surf too much in the way of clothes for me, though I have to say I was impressed by the shoe selection. Housewares was wonderful with appliances, towels, gadgets and more abounding. What surprised me was the selection of automotive and hardware for the house. I generally don't find much of those at discount stores. A very rounded selection of items to choose from all around the store.

The Grand Opening Celebration starts at 9a Saturday.  As part of the grand opening ceremony and in support of the local community, the new dd’s DISCOUNTS store will donate $1,000 to the Samuel L. Jones Boys & Girls Club.

Additionally, the store will give away $1,000 in dd’s DISCOUNTS gift cards. From June 29th  through July 7th, customers may enter for a chance to win one of five $100 or one of ten $50 dd’s DISCOUNTS gift cards.
