Pinewood Derby Workshop

Today I get to watch a bunch of boys try using tools. Actually, I'll watch the boys plan out their cars while dads help create them. The boys really enjoy getting their designs together, though most don't care for the process of sanding, checking and re-sanding. It'll be even more fun in January to watch them race their creations down the track. The siblings will all get involved too. The boys don't race against their siblings, just against each other.

My husband is the track and computer geek. This picture is of him and the Assistant Cub Master at this past year's race. They assembled the track and then ran the computer program that timed the cars. I think they had as much fun with their part as the boys. It just goes to show that you don't have to grow up.
