Printing problems

Perhaps the networld can help me solve a problem. My computer (running XP) tries to spool a file to my printer (HP all-in-one) and the spool hangs. I can print directly to printer and I can restart the spooler manually and have it print (though it takes a while when restarting the spooler). I backed to IE6 which let me get the spool restart to work but hasn't resolved the total issue. I've completely reinstalled all drivers and software. Ugh. Such a pain.
