The whale shark is the largest fish in the ocean. It gets to approx. 60 feet (or the size of a school bus) in length. It eats around 500 lbs of plankton by sifting it through its gills per day. It has teeth, though they're so small as to be mostly useless. The are "gentle" giants, generally ignoring divers who swim along side. They are egg layers, though to date only one egg has ever been found, containing a miniature of it's full size parent. We have no known numbers of how many are in the wild, though they live around 100-150 years in the wild.
And to think, the aquarium will have 2!
