Work

My son doesn't like it. He's taking the next level at the YMCA swim class (for him, Minnow). He's having to work hard at what his teacher is asking him to do. They're swimming laps, working on getting their heads to turn to the side to breathe, learning to dive/hold their breath, tread water, etc. He's a good swimmer, but has problems with the strokes. Because he has problems with the strokes, he has problems swimming the laps. He doesn't like having problems. He really prefers it when he catches on and has whatever he's trying to do without a lot of effort.

He's managed to do that so far with Choi Kwang Do. It will be interesting to see what happens as he gets to the upper belts. The Lord only knows if he'll go beyond earning his black belt. That's a long way away, though.

My daughter, on the other hand, did NOT want to start swim class. She didn't want me to let go of her while swimming either. Since she started her class (Pike II) she's started practicing her "cannon balls" every chance she gets.
