From the official Press Release:
Hear ye! Hear ye! For the first time in company history, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, Atlanta spearheads a cause-marketing campaign coined “FIGHT FOR THE CAUSE,” via the location’s recently launched Facebook page. In an effort to build fan engagement while supporting breast cancer awareness, the castle has committed to donate $1,000 to Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University once attaining 4,000 local Facebook page ‘Likes’ at Facebook.com/MTatlanta.
“The virtues of knighthood demand a commitment to the community,” said the Atlanta Castle’s Marketing & Sales Manager, Katrina Stroup. “FIGHT FOR THE CAUSE allows the castle to give back, while simultaneously addressing an audience of passionate locals who wish to be involved in the community.”
In noble honor of breast cancer awareness month, Medieval Times jumped at the opportunity to don pink, fight (and joust) for breast cancer research, and create a turnkey channel through which Facebook fans may support a worthy cause that touches the lives of so many.
In an effort to spread the FIGHT FOR THE CAUSE beyond the castle walls, Medieval Times forged partnerships and developed a variety of grass roots initiatives to support the campaign. Highlights include talent from Star94 Atlanta visiting the castle parking lot to promote the Rack Up the Miles Campaign for Breast Cancer, a costumed horse and rider joining the ‘Be the Boss of You’ trail ride for breast cancer, and a visit from 5-Hour Energy to distribute pink lemonade and energize the Medieval Times team for the FIGHT.
The castle’s hope is to spread awareness of the FIGHT FOR THE CAUSE throughout the area by distributing pink promotional items at local events and at Medieval Times shows throughout the month of October. In addition to their donation commitment, Medieval Times plans to award one random participant a party for eight guests at the castle, making this FIGHT a win/win battle.
