Poor boy
Well, my son finally pushed too far last night. Attitude can be conveyed by more than just ignoring the mother (NEVER ignore the mother). He yelled back at his dad (he didn't want to stop watching tv). SO.. my son learned that he doesn't get to have his way by pitching a crying/screaming fit. (Note: it's a rare occasion that that happens) Tomorrow - no tv. As I pointed out to him, since tv seems to be the cause of the problems (he ignores me mainly when it's on) and he yells or otherwise seems to have issues when he doesn't want to LEAVE the tv... then the tv must be the root of his problem. We'll see how much of an affect not having it makes.

oh boy this really sounds familiar. You're doing the right thing.
yeah, we learned from a VERY young age, crying/screaming only makes it worse. WAY worse.
*laugh* You know that "he ignores me mainly when it's on" is exactly whate his Grumps, his Daddy, and and his Uncle do too! Nip it in the bud while you still have a chance to keep him from turning into them! :)
Bobbi
Ugh! There's nothing worse than getting ignored in favor of TV.
