Book Fairs

It's that time of year again. The time when kids beg their parents for money so they can go to the book fair. Most actually buy the books that are out. Quite a few will buy random pencils, erasers and other small toys.

Our book fair started previews last week and sales this week. I worked yesterday and will again today. Watching the kids spend their money is fun. They'll do whatever they can to use ALL of it on as much as possible. The big books at our schools are Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Rodrick Rules, Star Wars the Clone Wars and anything Pokemon. Harry Potter is a thing of the past. Geronimo Stilton is a new series that, while not as popular as the others, is making itself known. Another that's also newly popular is SkippyJon Jones.

At any rate, the idea of the day is that books are cool. Just ask the kids at our school. FYI - Diary of a Wimpy Kid books sell out as fast as they show on the shelves. We've had two shipments of them and they've all sold out. It's only been 3 days worth of sales.
