Rule of Four

I have to admit I liked this book much better than Nora Roberts'. Kind of strange, though, to read. It had a lot of 'sidebars' that filled in history but distracted from the main plot. Essentially it's a book about 4 college students at Princeton and a particular book that links two of them together and pulls the other two in as well. In the end, the book ends up destroying one friend, 'killing' another, and leaving one in a sort of "haze" for the next few years due to events that happen while they research it. It's kind of a 'who-dun-it' type mystery with a twist.

That's what was my problem with it, so much sidetracking until it made me impatient and I started skimming.
