Six Flags #HolidayInThePark #hosted #ad @sixflagsovergeorgia

I was provided with passes to attend the opening event in exchange for my post.

My son turned 20 on Monday, so I took him and a pair of his friends to Six Flags to check out this year's Holiday in the Park.  Unfortunately for me, I can't ride many of the roller coasters any longer.  So my main role was to hold stuff and to check out the lights/shows/etc for the evening.  The kids, on the other hand, enjoyed the Goliath, Twisted Cyclone, Justice League, Acrophobia and more.  They did check out Monster Mansion and the Carousel with me, though.  I always enjoy the Carousel with it's holiday decorations.

We attended the tree lighting, which happens every evening at 6p.  With carolers and dancers to set up the spirit and 'snow' to provide atmosphere, it's a great way to start the evening.  We enjoyed s'mores (with the way my kids go - crisped marshmallows, mostly), hot chocolate (in refillable mugs) and a great evening out starting off the holidays (and celebrating my son's birthday).

The shows are all fun as well.  There are several to choose from depending on your preference.  From the funny (Bad Bob Humbug) to the classic (Retro Christmas USA Special), there's entertainment to sit and enjoy.  I saw families with kids of all ages enjoying themselves.  You can check out Six Flag's web site to get more information on the shows to look for.

With Black Friday this week, if Six Flags is something you or your family enjoy, you might consider their specials as gifts for family/friends/yourself.  I remember Six Flags being the "place to be" when I was younger.  A great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a good time.  Now, with my kids that age, it's just as fun to go and watch them have fun.
