The picture below is kinda gross. You may not want to view it.
Sierra has been chewing/licking her feet for a while. It's been a constant challenge to me to figure out how to keep her from damaging herself further while allowing the issue to heal. In the last month or so, she decided to move to her hip/leg area. It started as a hotspot and she quickly made a small wound. She managed to find ways around the cone, so it became a definite problem. She finally made the small wound into a hole in her side, so I had to take her to the vet to get it fixed. He had to sedate her in order to stitch it shut and put in a drain. When we got her home, we set her up in the playroom. I thought it would be a good restricted area that we could keep quiet so that she could sleep off the painkillers and sedation and not get into trouble. I was wrong. She managed to get BEHIND the big TV in the playroom. She managed to not only poop behind the tv, but pull most of the cables out and get tangled. It was so much fun to fix. The switch box was broken, so I'll have to get another one of those. The rest was cleanable and was hooked back up.
So not my preferred way to end the week.
