During class Thursday, I had one 2nd grade boy start this conversation with a friend. "Girls play with dolls, boys play with action figures. Girls can't play with action figures.." So I asked what an "action figure" was and the first one named was "Power Rangers". I had to ask (to stir the pot) what about the pink ranger? They mentioned Teen Titans and I had to ask what about Starfire? The only response I could get out of them was "Girls can't play with action figures.."
I suppose it's just as well that there weren't more girls in the class that day. I'd have had a riot on my hands.
